HYDRAFACIAL: EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

WHAT IS A HYDRAFACIAL?

A HydraFacial is a multistep facial that incorporates cleansing, exfoliation, and pore extractions in one service. HydraFacials can also prep your skin for customized serums that address your specific skin concerns. With a patented device that uses Vortex-Fusion, HydraFacials utilize a gentle but highly effective vacuum technology to create a vortex effect that easily dislodges and removes impurities from the skin while simultaneously delivering hydrating and soothing skin solutions. Perfect for clients who have clogged or enlarged pores, the spiral design of HydroPeel® Tips provides painless extractions with no downtime! The beauty of the HydraFacial technology and technique is that it allows for a highly customizable service. For the best results, discuss your skin concerns with your esthetician so that they can pair your service with an added booster for even more incredible, instant results.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING A HYDRAFACIAL SERVICE?

During your HydraFacial treatment, your esthetician will use a handheld patented device and various “HydraPeel” attachments to vacuum out pore-clogging debris such as dead skin cells and excess oil while also delivering a mild peel and infusing skin with nourishing and hydrating ingredients such as antioxidants, hyaluronic acid, and peptides.

As HydraFacials can be customized for your particular skin sensitivity and concern, the treatment you receive will vary slightly from person to person. For example, if you have a lot of congestion and blackheads, your esthetician may choose to focus more on cleansing your skin and extraction. For aging concerns such as fine lines and wrinkles, you may receive more active ingredients like glycolic acid, which help to increase skin cell turnover and improve the telltale signs of aging skin. To get the most out of your treatment, be sure to discuss your skin concerns with your esthetician. This enables them to create a personalized service that addresses your needs.

Regardless of the personalized aspect of your treatment, a HydraFacial will include the following steps:

Cleanse & Peel: Your esthetician will start by deeply cleansing your pores using a mix of hydrating and soothing botanical ingredients. Using the specially created handheld device and HydraPeel tip, your esthetician will ensure that all makeup and dirt are removed from your skin. Once thoroughly cleansed, your esthetician will use a mix of glycolic and salicylic acids to exfoliate and remove the top layer of dead and dull skin cells. This will help to reveal a clearer and more radiant-looking complexion and create a perfect canvas for the serums to penetrate.

Extraction: Once your skin has been cleansed and exfoliated, your esthetician will use a vacuum tip to suction out blackheads and any remaining congestion within your pores. While improving skin clarity, this step also helps to boost circulation and stimulate lymphatic drainage! Several different tips can be used for this step, depending on your desired results and skin sensitivity.

Hydration: Next, your esthetician will apply a targeted serum infused with hydrating and highly effective ingredients such as collagen, acids, antioxidants, and peptides. There are several different boosters to choose from depending on your skin goals, each targeting specific concerns such as fine lines and wrinkles, dullness, laxity, and breakouts.

Once your HydraFacial treatment is complete, your esthetician will apply moisturizer and sunscreen to lock in all of the goodness and protect your newly exfoliated skin from harmful UV rays.

WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR A HYDRAFACIAL?

As the HydraFacial treatment is extremely gentle, it’s generally well tolerated by most people. However, if you have a specific health concern, for example, if you’re taking an acne medication such as Accutane, or you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, be sure to let your esthetician know before you book in your treatment.

HOW LONG DO HYDRAFACIAL RESULTS LAST?

After a HydraFacial treatment, you’ll notice an immediate improvement in your skin, as it will appear deeply hydrated and glowing. Results typically last around a week; however, you can achieve longer-lasting results by scheduling monthly HydraFacial appointments.

DOES A HYDRAFACIAL REMOVE WRINKLES?

A series of HydraFacial treatments can improve the look of fine lines and superficial wrinkles. In order to get the most effective results, we recommend a series of three to six treatments over a three to six-month period. Maintenance treatments are also recommended if you want to keep fine lines at bay.

WHICH TREATMENTS GO WELL WITH A HYDRAFACIAL?

Several treatments pair well with a HydraFacial, such as LED light therapy. LED light therapy has been showing to have multiple benefits for the skin and can be used to highly customize and complement your HydraFacial. For example, if breakouts are a concern, combining a blue LED light treatment can help to kill acne-causing bacteria and give you even greater results. A HydraFacial can also be an excellent way to prep the skin and clear out pores before a microneedling procedure to ensure that serums penetrate deeply and are effective as possible.
