The Benefits of Rosacea Treatment

If you suffer from Rosacea, you’ll know how irritating it can be to be asked whether you’re ok or to be told that you’ve got a sunburn. Looking flushed can be a problem, particularly if it only affects part of your face and Rosacea can occur anywhere on the body. You will be pleased to know that at Sahar Advanced Aesthetics, we offer laser treatment, that can significantly improve the effects of Rosacea and return your skin to a much more natural tone.

What Causes Rosacea?

Rosacea is a deep reddening of the face, which can be caused by several different factors. Sun, wind, stress, alcohol, hot baths, and even spicy foods and the condition can worsen in the long term if left untreated. Men can suffer from this chronic issue, but it occurs in three times more women than it does in men and it tends to happen to those in their early to mid-thirties. Not only can it make the face, eyes, chest, and neck look overly flushed, but it can also leave the skin feeling very sensitive and painful to touch.

What Treatment Is Available For Rosacea?

The first and most important thing to say at this point is that you should get the condition diagnosed by your GP. The treatments available are suitable for Rosacea, but only if it is Rosacea. Up until recently, skin conditions like these were treated with oral and topical antibiotics, but this only works if there is an infection. Pulsed Dye Laser treatment (Also known as photoderm or vasculight laser treatment) is an extremely effective remedy for Rosacea, which uses intense beams of light to alleviate damaged skin and inflamed capillaries, ridding the skin cells of the blood that is causing the red discoloration. Usually, this treatment is quite painless, due to its non-invasive nature, but a topical anesthetic can be applied to reduce the chances of discomfort.

What To Expect After Rosacea Treatment

The condition will usually require multiple treatments to completely return the skin to its original state and there may be some mild bruising, inflammation, and discomfort for up to 10 days afterward. You might even experience a kind of ‘crust’ to the skin for short time, but this should quickly clear up, as with the other symptoms mentioned.

How Effective Is Rosacea Laser Treatment?

What we have found with the Pulsed Dye laser treatment we have used with Rosacea, is that it can reduce redness by as much as 50% after the first session and by another 60% in subsequent treatments. What our clients are also telling us is that the flushing, sensitivity, and irritation are significantly reduced too. At Sahar Advanced Aesthetics, our skilled and experienced technicians have the necessary expertise to ensure that all of your treatments go smoothly and safely. Treatments like those mentioned above cost less than you might think and they make a huge difference to a person’s confidence and quality of life.
